Gordon Lambert is a pioneering sustainable business executive who lead Suncor Energy’s sustainability strategy, innovation and embedding efforts for 17 years. A central player in the creation of Canada’s Oil Sands Innovation Alliance (COSIA), he was appointed by the Premier of Alberta to the Alberta Climate Leadership Plan expert panel and Chaired the Alberta Climate Leadership Technology and Innovation Task Force. Gordon is a member of the Board of the Alberta Energy Regulator (AER), Alberta Innovates and Canadian Business for Social Responsibility (CBSR). He serves on the Export Development Canada CSR advisory council and as the Energy and Sustainability Executive in Residence at the Ivey Business School.

David Wheeler is an internationally experienced academic leader and business person with three decades of senior executive involvement in change management and sustainable business practice, research and teaching. In that time David has provided advice to numerous governments, businesses and civil society organizations pursuing sustainable development. He is presently an advisor to Export Development Canada and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and to the Dean of Environmental Studies at York University.

Ed Whittingham is a passionate, results-oriented environmental professional. His background in climate change, energy policy and corporate sustainability has been developed through 20 years of working collaboratively with companies, governments, universities and non-governmental organizations in Canada and internationally. He is the former executive director of the Pembina Institute, Canada’s widely respected energy/environment NGO.

Rebecca Black leads boutique marketing consultancy Black Current Marketing. Since 2006, she and her team have worked with a range of international clients seeking low carbon solutions to address climate change. Rebecca’s expertise is in developing brands, campaigns and events that help create and market a more sustainable future. She is also the Co-Founder of the rapidly growing Women in Renewable Energy WiRE capacity-building organization and Director of TREC Renewable Energy Coop.

Kathrin Bohr has 18 years experience working with Canadian and international clients in sustainable supply chain, stakeholder engagement, strategy, and ESG reporting. She is Senior Partner at Stakeholder Research Associates and previously held positions as Director, Sustainability Solutions at Intertek PLC and Vice President, Canadian Business for Social Responsibility. Kathrin is a trained career coach in the Impact space. She holds an MBA from the Schulich School of Business with a specialization in Business & Sustainability and a BA from the University of Toronto.

She holds a Masters and a Bachelor of Business Administration from the Schulich School of Business, specializing in sustainability and marketing.

Cory Searcy is a Professor of Industrial Engineering and Environmental Applied Science & Management (EnSciMan) at Ryerson University. He currently serves as the Associate Dean, Programs in Ryerson’s Yeates School of Graduate Studies (YSGS). His current research focuses on corporate sustainability indicators, sustainability reporting, and sustainable supply chains. Cory also serves as a section editor for corporate sustainability at the Journal of Business Ethics.

  2. Supporting the development of a profession of managers and entrepreneurs committed to transition. We are aiming to qualify and accredit a minimum of 100,000 transition managers within 15 years.

  3. Supporting the development of role models and mentoring capacity at all levels – including ‘reverse mentoring’ – and providing for digital matchmaking of those joining the movement.

  4. Creating new educational pathways of accessible and flexible learning in transition-related topics by sharing existing educational opportunities.

  5. Developing new educational opportunities that transcend disciplinary and institutional barriers and leverage new course formats, online and open access resources, conferences, and co-labs.
