The Academy for Sustainable Innovation (ASI) is pleased to announce our partnership with the Cement Association of Canada (CAC) as they take action toward net-zero by 2050, in line with their recently released Concrete Zero Action Plan.

Through this partnership, ASI and the CAC are working to create learning and engagement opportunities for stakeholders in the cement and concrete industry, with the goal of building collective momentum and enabling collaborative action toward net-zero goals. ASI is proud to support the CAC’s leadership role in decarbonizing the industry and their commitment to making concrete a net-zero material of choice for building a climate-positive future.

The current phase of work between ASI and the CAC includes the development of an eLearning module and stakeholder alignment workshop to inform next steps within a broader, multi-year engagement process for the industry.

“Concrete Zero is an impressive and ambitious plan – just the type of leadership that we love to see by associations in the transition toward a low-carbon, socially-inclusive future! We are thrilled to be able to support this initiative and hope to be able to put our skills and experience to work in service of this industry and any others who also wish to demonstrate leadership.”

CEO, Academy for Sustainable Innovation

“We are excited to partner with ASI to create meaningful learning and engagement opportunities on the Canadian Cement and Concrete industry’s net-zero transition. Achieving net-zero requires not only technological innovation, but also behavioural innovation. By leveraging ASI’s expertise and resources, we aim to accelerate the adoption of sustainable practices within our industry, and to provide our collaborators in the construction sector, governments and civil society with the knowledge, tools and engagement opportunities they need to help us on our decarbonization journey. Together, we can co-create the conditions necessary to reach net-zero cement and concrete and light a path toward industrial decarbonization and a net-zero built environment.”
