Helping Canadians see themselves as climate leaders
Climate change and extreme weather events are having a profound impact on the work of engineers and geoscientists, shaping both their immediate responsibilities and long-term planning. Equipped with the tools to collect and interpret data, along with the skills to design, build, and maintain critical infrastructures, these professionals are stepping into leadership roles that require holistic thinking beyond technical know-how.
However, the softer skills— how we inspire teams, engage organizations, and bring stakeholders on board —are rarely emphasized in our university programs. Yet, they are arguably just as vital as hard skills when it comes to navigating the transition to a sustainable future.
Join ASI’s CEO, Tamara Connell, at the EGBC Conference on October 17 where they will be presenting a model of Transition Leadership competencies that will support engineers and geoscientists advance the transition toward a low-carbon, socially-inclusive future.
