Most Canadians care about climate change and want to see real progress on the energy transition, but technical solutions alone won’t get us there. What turns good ideas into action? Good leadership.
Join us for a conversation with Alex Lemay, Annabelle Liao, and Megan Bennett as they dig into what good leadership looks like when it comes to powering our lives.
We’ll be talking about keeping energy affordable, why diverse voices need to be at the table, and the programs/initiatives that can help Canadians step into leadership roles within the energy transition.
Alex is the Manager of Generation Power at Indigenous Clean Energy, where he leads a national program that connects Indigenous youth with careers in the clean energy sector. Through partnerships, mentorship, and training, the program has helped more than 150 Indigenous youth secure job placements and launch careers in the growing clean energy economy.
Megan is the VP of Program Operations at Summerhill, where she leads program delivery for utility and government clients across Canada. With more than 15 years of experience in energy efficiency, she focuses on operational excellence and scalable impact. Beyond her operational role, she advances climate conversations through initiatives like her Plugged In podcast and climate care book club.
Annabelle is a Project Lead at Kambo Energy Group, where she leads a clean mobility pilot with urban Indigenous and low-income communities in Metro Vancouver. She also runs the Youth Activator program through her nonprofit Project Arrowroot, which offers free, low-barrier climate education and professional development to help youth reimagine the just transition and build the skills to participate in it.
