ASI and Technical Safety BC Partner to Promote Climate Action in Safety

The Academy for Sustainable Innovation (ASI) is excited to announce its continued partnership with Technical Safety BC to prioritize sustainability and climate action in safety and risk management. Led by a strategy that states safety is a shared responsibility, Technical Safety BC recognizes the crucial intersection between safety and climate action, particularly amid rising safety risks due to climate change.

This collaboration will focus on developing an engaging eLearning course for Technical Safety BC employees. The course will enhance awareness and comprehension of the impacts of climate change in British Columbia (BC), offering examples of how employees of the safety regulator can champion climate action within their roles.

Technical Safety BC continues to prioritize the integration of climate action strategies into its safety system risk management plan, and ASI is proud to support them in leading the way toward a safer and more climate-resilient province.

We are excited to partner with ASI again. This course will provide our employees with important information about how to incorporate climate safety into their work with the goal of creating a safer, more climate resilient province. Technical Safety BC’s climate action work is focused on understanding and mitigating safety risks and hazards associated with extreme weather events that impact the technical systems we regulate. We are also working to enable the safe adoption of low-carbon technologies in BC.

Tamara Connell, CEO of ASI

We are always thrilled to support the work of organizations who are committed to sustainability and climate action. We believe that climate action leadership can be demonstrated by all employees, regardless of their titles or roles, and this learning opportunity will provide additional knowledge and skills to create positive change. This course is one step towards taking climate action in the context of safety in BC, and we are proud to be supporting Technical Safety BC in their ambitious actions toward a safer and more sustainable future
