Meet Benjamin John who is a valued member of ASI’s Members Network

As the Climate & Energy Programs Manager at the UNESCO-designated Georgian Bay Mnidoo Gamii Biosphere, his role focuses on the intersection of climate change, energy management, and local economic development. 

Ben supports municipalities, First Nations, businesses, and individuals in planning and implementing climate change mitigation and adaptation strategies. These strategies aim to reduce energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions, build community resilience, and achieve cost savings.

In 2024, Ben’s dedicated earned him ECO Canada’s national EPt ECO Impact Award

Ben holds a Bachelor of Business Administration with a focus in Sustainable Business from Wilfrid Laurier University and a Master’s in Resource and Environmental Management from Dalhousie University. 

When he’s not championing sustainability, you can find him fishing, golfing, playing hockey, or exploring the waters of Georgian Bay.
