Abbotsford Chamber and ASI Launch Climate Resilience Program for Local Businesses

The Academy for Sustainable Innovation (ASI) is pleased to announce the launch of Future-Proof Your Business: Climate Action for Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises in collaboration with the Abbotsford Chamber of Commerce.

Climate change is already impacting businesses in Abbotsford and beyond. Extreme weather, supply chain disruptions, rising costs, and insurance challenges are becoming the new normal. But businesses that prepare today will be more resilient and competitive in the future.

The Future-Proof Your Business: Climate Action for Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises program was designed for the Abbotsford Chamber of Commerce to help small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Abbotsford understand the risks and opportunities that climate change presents and take practical steps to safeguard their operations.

Included is a custom online course for Abbotsford Chamber members to access year-round, and an in-person workshop set to take place on June 18, 2025. Abbotsford-based businesses are encouraged to explore this opportunity via the Abbotsford Chamber website.

The program is part of ASI’s national Climate Resilience for SMEs initiative, supported by Definity Financial. It is tailored for Chambers of Commerce, Business Improvement Associations, and Boards of Trade that want to support the businesses in their networks.

Through the program, ASI works with partner organizations to offer a customized eLearning course and an in-person workshop as a value-added service for members.

The goal is to help local business owners better understand the climate-related risks and opportunities that could impact their operations in the years ahead.

Chambers of Commerce, Business Improvement Associations, and Boards of Trade interested in offering the program to businesses in their networks are invited to contact ASI for availability.

Two spots remain for 2025 at a highly subsidized rate, made possible through generous support from Definity Financial.
